The integrated daycare institution Nuka in Kangerlussuaq is looking for dedicated employees such as educators, social workers, and kitchen assistants. The focus is on creating a safe and developmental everyday life for the children, with good collaborative relationships between staff and parents.

With space for 44 children divided into a nursery with space for 24 children aged 0-3 years, divided into two rooms. Kindergarten with space for 20 children aged 4 - 6 years.


Qeqqata Municipality is looking for a skilled and dedicated employee. The Education area aims to create curious, resilient, healthy, and happy children. It is expected that you as an employee and your immediate supervisor focus on achieving these goals.

Work and responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for following the Inatsisartut Act No. 62 of November 20, 2023, on pedagogical developmental offers for preschool children, as well as working according to guidelines that can be found on Qeqqata Municipality's website regarding Qeqqata Municipality's political visions, children and youth policy, and pedagogical objectives.
  • We will strive to create a daily routine when there is a balance between familiarity based on daily rhythm/time perception & unpredictability based on the children's influence on the institution's culture. Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police, as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.


Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between Naalakkersuisut and Nunatsinni Perorsaasut Kattuffiat (NPK) and SIK or another relevant negotiating organization.


Commencement as soon as possible, or by agreement.Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.


Housing:Staff housing can be provided for social workers and educators, for which a deposit and rent, utilities etc. are paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in Greenland's Self-Government and the municipality's properties etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees with the right to temporary housing will be offered a temporary housing, for which rent, utilities etc. are paid in accordance with the above.


Relocation travel and moving expenses are provided in accordance with applicable rules.
