Municipality of Qeqertalik is seeking a structured and dedicated executive secretary with strong collaboration skills and a high level of confidentiality. The position is centrally located in the political and administrative top management based in Aasiaat. You will be a key person in supporting the mayor's and the management's daily work.

The Municipality of Qeqertalik is looking for a structured and committed executive secretary with strong collaboration skills and a high level of confidentiality. The position is centrally located in the political and administrative top management based in Aasiaat. You will be a key person in supporting the daily work of the mayor and the management team, experiencing a workday characterized by a high pace, responsibility, and many points of contact.

  • Calendar management and planning for the mayor
  • Meeting preparation, including the distribution of agendas and meeting materials
  • Minutes writing from meetings and events
  • Correspondence and communication, internally and externally
  • Logging in the ESDH system Public 360
  • Practical support and coordination in connection with the mayor's and management's travels.
  • Close collaboration with the mayor, management, the secretariat, and other stakeholders inside and outside the municipality.
  • Fluent in Greenlandic and good communication skills in Danish and English.
  • Familiar with the Office suite, especially Outlook, Teams, and Word.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Public 360 and the municipal financial system Prisme is an advantage.
  • Experience with secretarial functions, political servicing, or administration is desirable.
  • Academic or office education is preferred, but not a requirement.
  • You work in a structured manner, independently, and have control over the details.
  • You demonstrate a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
  • You have a flexible approach and work well in close collaboration with the mayor and the management.
  • You thrive in a role with responsibility and changing tasks.

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

A staff housing option will be available for the position, for which a deposit and rent, as well as utilities, will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payments in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff accommodation cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to a temporary accommodation will be offered a temporary vacant housing, for which A-tax will be paid for benefits in kind according to applicable legislation.

Travel and relocation expenses are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.

A staff residence must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
