The housing collective Naasunnguit is looking for a caring employee for the support team in Paamiut. The position is 40 hours a week with varying shifts. You will work with residents with mental disabilities and support them in their daily lives.

The support corps in Paamiut is looking for an employee 40 hours a week.

The Disability and Social Psychiatry is looking for a caring and welcoming employee for the support corps in Paamiut, currently located in Naasunnguit. If you have your heart in the right place and are passionate about making a difference for our citizens, you might be the one we are missing as our new colleague.


The position is for 40 hours, with changing shifts and weekend work. You will be working together with 2 employees in the housing collective, who work 40 hours a week.


In the housing collective Naasunnguit, there are 4 residents with mental disabilities and developmental disabilities. The residents have their own room and share a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and toilet with the other residents. Your core task will be to help the residents develop their mental, social, and practical skills, so they can be as self-sufficient as possible. Together with your colleagues, you will support the residents in living a good and meaningful life, as they wish.


Your tasks:

·To work on developing the residents towards a higher degree of self-sufficiency and increased quality of life, including through the work with the residents' action plans

·To motivate and support the residents in daily activities such as a walk, shopping, cooking, and doctor visits

·To strengthen the community through collaboration with colleagues, leaders, and residents


The tasks are solved in close collaboration with the other employees of the housing collective as well as internal and external partners, including caseworkers, Queen Margrethe's Hospital, and the correctional services.


Expectations of you:

·You have experience working with people, preferably from the field

·Are caring and welcoming, and see that it is the way to a good working environment

·Have a desire to develop yourself and our department, so it makes a significant difference for the residents

∙Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement


About us:

In this position, you will become part of a larger community: We are a department with eight housing units, five housing collectives, two activity and social offers, and three support corps distributed in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.


Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.


The employment will be with a 3-month probation period.


Housing:

There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, temporary staff housing will be offered to employees entitled to vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing becomes available. Relocation travel and moving expenses are provided according to applicable rules.
