The therapy team in Nuuk is looking for a physiotherapist for a full-time position focused on the adult sector. The position involves group training, home visits, and interdisciplinary collaboration. We are seeking a committed and flexible person with experience in the field who can contribute to the development of the therapy team.

The therapy team is looking for a physiotherapist for a permanent position in the adult area

We are looking for a physiotherapist preferably from October 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.

If you would like to come to Nuuk and do a lot of group training, then this position might be just right for you.


We are a team of therapists who have come to Greenland to experience the beautiful nature, culture, and to fulfill an old dream of coming here. We are committed to welcoming people and we contribute to ensuring that citizens of all ages with permanent physical, cognitive, sensory, and/or mental disabilities achieve more independence in their daily lives.


We do this among other things by:

∙Maintenance training either individually or in groups

∙Assessment, approval, and distribution of large and small aids that are intended to increase citizens' independence, accessibility, and participation in their own lives

∙Training in daily skills through meaningful activities


The therapy team is divided into four areas and one specialty area: Children, Adults, Rehabilitation, and Disability & Social Psychiatry, and we have a specialist therapist who runs welfare technology projects, so we cover a wide range. You will always encounter a new exciting task and you become a generalist by being up here.


You will have a daily base in Nuuk.


If you want to, in close interdisciplinary collaboration with the rest of the team, help develop and shape the adult/senior area in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq, then you are the one we are looking for!

The position is a full-time position of 40 hours with a shared office in Nuuk.


The physiotherapist's tasks:                   

∙Maintenance training at activity centers, nursing homes, and privately. Possibly pool training

∙Home visits in connection with both training, instruction, and assessment

∙Case management of aids and housing changes

∙Purchasing aids, distribution of, as well as training/instruction in the use of aids

∙To be a good communicator also to other professional groups, where the nursing staff at the municipality's nursing homes and activity centers are major collaborators

∙Administrative tasks

∙Interdisciplinary collaboration

∙Contributing to lifting common tasks in the therapy team


We need a person who:

∙Is a trained physiotherapist

∙Preferably with experience in the elderly area

∙Can work independently and be self-organizing

∙Is creative, engaged, action-oriented, and professionally well-founded

∙Can act in different cultures

∙Is flexible and adaptable

∙Is a team player who is open and accommodating

∙Is a good communicator – good at training other professional groups

∙Preferably has experience with aids

Criminal record check:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record check. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the criminal record check from the Police.


Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.


The employment will be with a 3-month probation period.


Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
