The Community House Illorput is seeking a Culture and Leisure Consultant to coordinate activities and develop creative offerings. The position requires relevant education and experience in leisure and cultural activities. Applicants must have good collaboration skills and the ability to work independently.

Creative meeting place, Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is seeking a leisure consultant to coordinate activities in the house and to ensure a well-composed range of activities. This includes both creative workshops as well as other leisure and cultural activities.


Job content:

We are looking for a Leisure Consultant to join the Citizen House Illorput and take on a number of tasks including:

∙To arrange, plan, and execute leisure activities in collaboration with the user group

∙To coordinate the use of the creative workshops & large hall rental

∙To seek out and ensure constructive collaboration with the leisure life in Nuuk regarding the house's activities

∙The art piece Ajagaq is managed by Illorput, and based on this connection, collaboration with Ajagaq is required when there are activities

∙To ensure a wide range of activities that target the general population

∙To develop creative and leisure activities for youth in Illorput workshops.

∙To collaborate with other departments for the development of creative and leisure activities in Illorput

∙To develop an annual plan for Illorput that ensures the house is active with ongoing activities throughout the year

∙To contribute to the financial overview of Illorput activities

∙To enhance the visibility of Illorput to the general leisure and cultural life


The tasks are solved in close collaboration with other employees.


Expectations for applicants:

∙A relevant education – preferably within the leisure and cultural field Interest and engagement in the leisure and creative area

∙That you have a relevant education, and if possible have a bachelor's degree

∙Experience in developing and executing leisure and cultural activities

∙Have the skills to coordinate larger leisure and cultural activities

∙Can handle the practical tasks around the weekly activities in Illorput, such as purchasing relevant materials and tools or preparing for workshops

∙Have good collaboration skills and a sense for supporting citizens in arranging activities in Illorput, while allowing citizens to maintain control of the activity

∙Good understanding of finance and budgeting

∙Employment of a bilingual applicant is preferred (kal/dk), and possibly also proficient in English both written and spoken, but not a requirement.

Illorput is one of the municipality's leisure and cultural institutions and reports to the Leisure Department, under the Children and School administration


As a Leisure Consultant, you will therefore collaborate with the Leisure Department both in Development and in the further development of Illorput activities. Your immediate supervisor will be the daily manager of Illorput, with whom you will work closely regarding the management of Illorput's activity offerings. In addition to the daily manager, there are leisure education staff in Illorput.


The Citizen House currently hosts several activities arranged by both Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq and the citizens of Nuuk. The house has good facilities to host conferences, courses, events, workshops, etc.


Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.


Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of employment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.


Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.


Housing: No staff housing can be provided for the position.
