Occupational Therapist Wanted for the Therapy Team under the Department of Welfare and Labor Market
The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist for a permanent position in the Therapy Team under the Department of Welfare and Labor Market, starting October 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The Therapy Team is seeking an occupational therapist with interest and knowledge in assistive devices as well as an interest in the disability and social psychiatry field.
The Therapy Team is divided into four main areas and one specialized area: Children's area, Adult area, Rehabilitation area, and Disability & Social Psychiatry area, as well as a specialized therapist responsible for welfare technology tasks. You will be employed in the disability and social psychiatry area.
The Therapy Team contributes to ensuring that citizens of all ages with physical, cognitive, and/or psychiatric challenges achieve the greatest possible independence in their daily lives. We do this, among other things, through training in daily living skills via meaningful activities. Maintenance training either individually or in groups. Assessment, approval, and distribution of large and small assistive devices that aim to increase citizens' independence, accessibility, and participation in their own lives.

Occupational Therapist's Tasks:
·Assist citizens with physical and/or mental disabilities in utilizing their resources and living an active life on their own terms
·Strengthen citizens' ability to be self-sufficient through training and assistive devices
·Take on a wide range of diverse and exciting assistive device tasks across a broad target group of citizens
·Together with the physiotherapist in the disability and social psychiatry area, be responsible for individual training, group training, and activity groups
·Assessment, case management, and lending of assistive devices to the target group and to citizens from the shared inbox
·Transfer training
·Work according to quality standards for the disability and social psychiatry area

Criminal and Child Certificate:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.
Salary and Employment Conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
Housing:
No staff housing can be provided for the position.
