Social Worker / Case Handler for the Children and Family Department in Maniitsoq
The Welfare area is seeking a skilled, engaged, and competent case handler for the notification team under the Children and Family department.
The Welfare area consists of 25 employees distributed across the Children and Family department, the elderly and disability department, and support functions - law, economics, and secretariat.
The Children and Family department is staffed for 9 employees, including Deputy Head and Professional Head.
The immediate supervisor will be the deputy head of the Children and Family department in Maniitsoq.
The main tasks for the case handler for the notification team are case processing of received notifications and decisions on support measures based on the notification.
Interdisciplinary meetings, preparation of action plans, as well as social professional investigations.
Participate in urgent cases (ad hoc)
Participation in the social duty
We expect you to:
- Have knowledge of legislation in the social area.
- Have experience working with children and young people
- Have experience holding meetings to assist the child and with case meetings
- Be able to maintain a good overview, even in stressful situations.
- Be able to work independently and responsibly
Professional qualifications
- Be a trained social worker or in a similar field
- Bilingual, though not a requirement
- Have good linguistic and written skills
Personal competencies:
- Service-minded
- Approachable
- Is engaged and focused on the work
- Is cooperative
- Has a good overview, even in busy periods.
Salary and employment conditions:
Employment and remuneration will be in accordance with the applicable agreements and collective agreements at any given time.
A housing option may be provided for the position
Start date: As soon as possible or by further agreement
Salary: According to collective agreement
Criminal record:
This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a child certificate and a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
