Juunarsip Atuarfia in Qasigiannguit is looking for two teachers to ensure children and young people receive an education. The positions are available from September 1, 2026. Applicants must be qualified teachers with experience in classroom management and have a focus on development and inclusion.

At the school in Qasigiannguit, the position as a teacher is available for appointment from September 1, 2026.

Juunarsip School is a school that focuses on learning and well-being, the development of the core task, including work with inclusion, to create the best school for the students. Juunarsip School also values collaboration with parents highly to achieve the overall goals. The school has about 130 students, with a norm of 21 teachers.

The school is divided into three levels.


It is expected that you as an applicant:

-Are a qualified teacher

-Have experience with classroom management

-Are development- and results-oriented, initiative-taking, and energetic


We are missing in the following:

-A teacher for 1st grade in all subjects, who can teach physical education and home economics in the upper grades.

-A teacher who can teach various subjects in the middle and upper grades


Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the agreement of August 27, 2014, between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK, for teachers in public schools in Greenland, etc., and the Main Agreement of October 28, 1998, between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK.


Housing will be provided, for which payment will be made according to the applicable rules at any time.


Other employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, will be in accordance with the agreements in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK.


Applicants coming from a civil servant position in Greenland will retain the right to this form of employment.

Housing:

For the position, staff housing can be allocated, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc., will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties, etc., in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon appointment, employees with the right to temporary housing will be offered a temporary accommodation, for which A-tax will be paid for free benefits in accordance with applicable legislation.

OR The appointment date is dependent on when there is staff housing available. Relocation travel and moving expenses will be provided in accordance with applicable rules.

Staff housing must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.


Criminal and child certificate:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the appointment date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police, as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.
