AC officer for the Construction Department

About the position

Do you want to work closely with the political decision-making process and help translate Naalakkersuisut's ambitions into concrete initiatives? Do you thrive in a daily routine where tasks range from communication and political servicing to strategy, analysis, and cross-cutting coordination? Then you might be our new AC advisor in the Construction Department.

As an AC advisor, you will be part of the Construction Department's cross-cutting task solutions and play a central role in supporting the Minister, the management, and the department's areas of expertise. You will work on a wide range of tasks within the Construction Department's areas of responsibility – from communication and political servicing to analyses, strategies, and cross-cutting coordination. No two days are the same, and tasks evolve in line with political priorities.

The position is broad and versatile and involves both independent tasks and close collaboration with colleagues across the department's areas of expertise and, when relevant, with other departments in the ministry. You will have a varied daily routine with both long-term tasks and matters that require quick action and coordination.

Your primary tasks

Your tasks will include:

• Preparation of decision-making proposals, notes, analyses, and responses to Naalakkersuisut and Inatsisartut.

• Coordination of hearings and contributions to materials in connection with Inatsisartut's sessions.

• Contributing to the development of strategies, action plans, and other cross-cutting development tasks.

• Quality assurance and coordination of written materials across the Construction Department's areas of expertise.

• Preparation of press releases, talking points, background materials, and other communication materials for the Minister and the department.

• Coordination of cross-cutting cases and collaboration with other ministries, municipalities, companies, and other partners.

• Ad hoc tasks related to the Construction Department's task management.

About you

We envision that you have a relevant academic education. Your educational background is less important than your ability to analyze, communicate, and translate complex issues into clear and targeted materials. You may for example have a degree in political science, public administration, communication, journalism, or social sciences, or have a corresponding academic education. Experience from a politically governed organization or public administration is an advantage, but certainly not a requirement.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the applicable agreement/collective agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of appointment.

The position is desired to be filled from September 1, 2026, or by agreement.

Housing

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.

About the Construction Department

The Construction Department is one of four departments in the Ministry of Housing, Infrastructure, Remote Districts, and Emergency Management and has a broad and socially significant portfolio of tasks. We work on the development, planning, financing, and implementation of initiatives that support Naalakkersuisut's political objectives and create value for citizens and society.

The department serves as the central building authority and the central client role for the Government's new construction projects. Additionally, we are responsible for the Housing and Property area, the area for Remote Districts, the Government's insurances, as well as the development and coordination of external fund financing.

Our tasks range from legislation, strategic development, and reform work to authority tasks, administration, financing schemes, and the implementation of larger development and construction projects. We also have responsibility for the ministry's economic tasks and administration of construction grants across the Government's areas of responsibility.
