The Municipality of Sermersooq in Paamiut is looking for an engaged consultant for the pension area. The position involves case processing of disability pensions and old-age pensions, collaboration with internal and external partners, as well as counseling. A developing work environment with a focus on collaboration and initiative is offered.

Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq in Paamiut is looking for a skilled and dedicated consultant for the pension area, with the start date as soon as possible.


The Benefits Department must ensure that case processing within old-age pensions - early retirement pensions always occurs in accordance with applicable legislation and based on a concrete assessment of the caseworker's/social worker's decisions.


The Benefits Department has many cross-cutting tasks and therefore collaborates broadly with many partners both internally in the municipality and with external partners.


The position, which is a full-time position, reports to the Senior Professional Consultant in Social Services under Welfare and Labor Market, Job and Social Services in Paamiut.


Job tasks for the vacant position

·Assessment of applications for early retirement pensions

·Reassessment of already existing early retirement pension cases

·Case processing as well as advice and guidance within the early retirement pension area

·Work based on applicable legislation

·Prepare proposals for the Interdisciplinary Committee

·Work interdisciplinary internally and externally with relevant partners

·Follow-up and preparation of resource profiles

·Conversations with citizens

·Participate in tripartite talks between citizen, municipality, and employer during work trials

·Senior budget changes/creations

·Processing of personal and availability allowances

·Pension changes

·Administration of pensions


Case processing with advice and guidance on the processing of early retirement pension grants, old-age pension applications according to applicable laws, regulations, circulars, and announcements.

The tasks are solved in close collaboration with the other employees of the authority department as well as our colleagues in the elderly area and external partners.


We expect that you:

·We expect that you are educated as TNI or similar.

·You preferably have experience in case processing in the area and preferably have a flair for IT (GetOrganized and AX prism).


We also emphasize that you:

·Are stable, quality-conscious, and detail-oriented

·Communicate clearly and distinctly both in writing and orally

·Work independently and responsibly

·Are good at collaborating broadly

·Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

·Are ready for ad hoc tasks

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the police.


Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.


The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.


Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
