Itillip Atuarfia in Itilleq is seeking a school leader to manage the daily operations and collaborate with teachers and administration. The position requires a focus on pedagogical leadership, student well-being, and cooperation with parents. Employment will be under special conditions with the possibility of housing.
For our school, Itillip Atuarfia in Itilleq, we are looking for a school leader who will be responsible for the daily operations in close collaboration with teachers, management, and administration.
We are seeking a leader who values a good and trusting collaboration with teachers, families, the leisure sector, administration – and especially with the children.
Itilleq has x students from grades 1 to 8 and a staffing of 3 teachers. We need a leader who believes in motivating, equitable, and visible pedagogical leadership in a village school in exciting development.
School's focus areas:

- Shared responsibility
Additionally, the school focuses on enhancing students' academic skills and independence, preparing them to continue their education in grades 8-9 in Maniitsoq.
Other focus points:
- Use of iPads in teaching
- Ongoing collaboration with parents and students regarding the effectiveness of teaching, well-being in the classroom, and the agreement between school and home
- Use of SkoleIntra for annual and weekly plans, planning, student action plans, student well-being, etc.
Job responsibilities:
- Staff management, employee development, and administration
- Familiarity with the programs Tabulex and Trio
- Supervision and follow-up on budget and accounts
- Supervision and maintenance of buildings belonging to Itillip Atuarfia, as well as school care
- Ensure that the village's residents are offered leisure education
- Responsible for the school's operations towards the school board and municipal council
Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to free travel and relocation, are in accordance with the applicable agreements and collective agreements between Naalakkersuisut and the teachers' organization IMAK.
Employment is on special fixed-term conditions according to the rules for Naalakkersuisut and the municipalities' civil servants in Greenland, as well as applicable agreements between Naalakkersuisut and IMAK.
Vacation travel is provided after every 12 months of employment.
Child certificate
The position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a child certificate. Employment can only begin once the municipality has obtained a child certificate from the National Police.
Employment is conditional on a satisfactory child and criminal record certificate, which is obtained by Qeqqata Kommunia.
Housing
Housing can be provided, for which payment is made according to applicable rules.
