Radio Chain Technician

Tusass plays a crucial role in the development and operation of Greenland's digital and socially critical infrastructure. We operate in a constantly evolving technological landscape, where high demands are placed on uptime, quality, and secure communication.

We are therefore looking for an independent, responsible, and technically competent Radio Chain Technician for the Transmission Department based in Nuuk.

The transmission area is part of the Operate function under the technical division T&I. The department is engaged in preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of telecommunication equipment at local telephone stations as well as in towns and settlements across Greenland. Transmission consists of two departments – Technical Transmission and Customer Transmission – with a total of about 10 technicians and 2 department managers.

About the position

As a radio chain technician, you will play a central role in ensuring high uptime and stable connections on Tusass’ transmission network. Your tasks range from daily operations and maintenance to participation in projects and emergency work within the radio chain area.

Your tasks will include:

• Planning and execution of maintenance of LH and Minilink radio chain systems

• Participation in construction projects as well as project management on smaller projects

• Coordination of troubleshooting across departments within the field

• Participation in the department's emergency preparedness

• Assisting other transmission areas with troubleshooting and ad hoc tasks while considering operations

The position involves travel activity, where transport primarily takes place by helicopter and charter ship, and where the duration of trips may vary.

We are looking for you who…

Has a solid technical background and experience with telecommunication and transmission equipment. You work in a structured manner, take responsibility, and manage to maintain an overview – even in pressured situations.

We expect that you:

• Have a technical education in electronics, e.g., as an electronics technician or electronics technologist, or have acquired equivalent competencies through relevant experience with operation and troubleshooting of technical systems

• Have experience with tele-technical installations and operations

• Have experience with or interest in radio chain systems (LH and Minilink)

• Can analyze relationships in complex technical installations

• Have a general understanding of IP-based and network-related systems

• Work independently, thoroughly, and responsibly

• Are reliable, flexible, and thrive in a sometimes busy everyday life

• Have good collaboration skills and can coordinate across professional areas

• Master Danish and English in writing and speaking (Greenlandic is an advantage but not a requirement)
