The Danish Transport Authority is seeking vehicle inspectors for Greenland. You will conduct vehicle inspections and ensure they are in good technical condition. The position involves travel and customer contact. You must have technical understanding and be able to communicate in Greenlandic and Danish. The work is carried out in collaboration with the Greenland Police and requires a category B driver's license.
SEARCH THIS POSITION Are you a trained mechanic, and do you dream of a daily life with professional challenges that differ from the classic workshop job? Do you want a job with great freedom, plenty of customer contact, and the opportunity to experience all of Greenland through your work? Then you might be the one we are looking for as a visual inspector in Greenland.
The Danish Road Safety Agency is in the process of establishing itself in Greenland, where we are tasked with conducting inspections of registered vehicles.
Our work will largely focus on ensuring that cars, snowmobiles, and other registered vehicles are in good technical condition. When the technology is in order, we reduce the risk of accidents. This benefits not only safety but also the environment.
Sight in Greenland is under political consideration, but we expect that the task in Greenland is similar to roadside inspections in Denmark.
We are therefore looking for two vehicle inspectors who will form the Danish Transport Authority's team in Greenland and who will work to create greater safety on the roads and in the terrain. We are currently seeking the first vehicle inspector, and we expect to announce the second position in the fall of 2026.
About the position
As a vehicle inspector at the Danish Road Safety Agency, you will have the opportunity to use your mechanical expertise in a new and versatile way. Your primary task will be the inspection of all registered vehicles. Therefore, you will be working with many different types of vehicles; everything from snowmobiles to large commercial vehicles.
The checks will take place at the roadside, where you will need to wave the vehicles to the side. Especially at the beginning, the controls will often be carried out in cooperation with the Greenland Police.
Your task will be to investigate whether there are faults in the vehicles and advise the owners on what to do if you find any faults. You can therefore expect to talk to a lot of different customers and partners.
At the same time, the position offers a unique opportunity to experience all of Greenland through your work. The inspection tasks take place in both larger cities and smaller settlements. Therefore, you can expect many travel days, but we will of course plan the inspections so that work and family life can be balanced.
The position may over time come to include more administrative tasks. We will of course ensure that you are well trained in the tasks.
You should also expect to participate in meetings at the Danish Road Safety Agency's main location in Denmark 1-2 times a year.
About you
We imagine that you are a trained mechanic or have experience with and knowledge of vehicle technology. The most important thing is that you have a solid technical understanding and would like to help make traffic safer.
You also thrive on talking to all kinds of people and are passionate about advising and helping others. You can explain and guide on the faults you may find in the vehicles in a way that everyone can understand, even those without a technical background.
We also expect that you:
· works independently, structured, and responsibly
· thrives with travel activity and varying workplaces
values a job with a lot of customer contact
