Inuili – Food College Greenland in Narsaq is seeking a dedicated basic subjects teacher to contribute to the development of vocational education in Greenland. About the position
Inuili – Food College Greenland in Narsaq is looking for a committed basic subject teacher who wants to contribute to the development of vocational education in Greenland. The position is a permanent employment of 40 hours per week.
As a core subject teacher, you will be part of a close-knit and practice-oriented educational environment, where teaching aims to create a connection between general subjects, students' education, and their future working life. Therefore, you must be able to make subjects such as Danish, English, social studies, psychology, mathematics, and natural sciences relevant, concrete, and applicable for students in vocational education.
You will become part of the school's teaching team and work closely with subject teachers, study guidance, internship functions, and management on students' learning, well-being, and completion.
Your primary tasks

Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in one or more core subjects, particularly Danish, English, social studies, psychology, mathematics, and natural sciences.

Organize teaching that connects the core subjects to the students' vocational education, practice, labor market, and everyday life.

Work with differentiated teaching, so students with different academic, linguistic, and personal prerequisites have the opportunity to succeed.

Contribute to the development of teaching programs, local education plans, exams, documentation, and quality assurance of core subject teaching.

Participate in interdisciplinary courses, team meetings, student follow-ups, and the school's joint pedagogical development work.

Support a safe, clear, and motivating learning environment with a focus on professionalism, responsibility, and community.

Has a relevant education and professional competencies in one or more of the mentioned core subjects.

You preferably have teaching experience from a vocational education, youth education, adult education, or a similar field.
You understand that students have different academic, linguistic, and personal prerequisites, and you can therefore organize the teaching in a differentiated, supportive, and scaffolding manner.
We expect that you have a relevant educational background, or that you are willing to undertake relevant pedagogical competence development or a teaching qualification.
You work independently, systematically, and responsibly, while also being able to engage professionally and constructively in collaboration with colleagues, management, and external partners. Additionally, you have good digital skills and can use digital tools in teaching, planning, and documentation.
It is an advantage if you

has experience with test and exam work, student documentation, and lesson planning.

has experience with young and adult students with different academic, linguistic, and personal backgrounds.

has knowledge of or interest in the vocational education sector.

can communicate in Greenlandic.

Salary and employment conditions
The position is a permanent full-time position of 40 hours per week. Salary and employment conditions, including pension, will be determined according to the collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Naalakkersuisut and the relevant negotiating organization. Placement will be based on the applicant's education, qualifications, and documented seniority.
Housing and relocation
No housing can be provided for the position. The employee must therefore find accommodation in Narsaq on their own. Any travel for arrival and departure, as well as moving expenses, will only be granted if there is a possibility for this according to the applicable agreement and after further negotiation.

Commencement will take place as soon as possible or by further agreement.
