The social worker will work at Iparartarfik School and coordinate tasks between the schools in Kangaatsiaq, Attu, Iginniarfik, Ikerasaaruk, and Niaqornaarsuk and the social sector. The main task is to enhance and improve school-home collaboration and provide guidance to teachers, students, and parents.
The social worker will be based at Iparartarfik School, covering village schools under Kangaatsip Atuarfia Iparartarfik. They will coordinate tasks between schools in Kangaatsiaq, Attu, Iginniarfik, Ikerasaaruk, and Niaqornaarsuk and the social sector. The immediate supervisor is the school principal. The primary task is to enhance school-home collaboration and advise teachers on reporting issues, act as a discussion partner for students and parents, and be a social professional sparring partner for teachers. The social worker will collaborate with school staff and social administration personnel to develop action plans focusing on preventing abuse and bullying, and participate in crisis management. In a class crisis, they will work with teachers and families to develop a class action plan, provide guidance, and act as a discussion partner. Our expectations: - Qualified social worker or similar education. - Initiative and ability to work independently. - Experience as a social worker, preferably in municipal administration (not required). - Competent, willing to work, and punctual. Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is preferred. We value good collaboration skills, trustworthiness, and a broad-minded personality. Salary and employment terms follow the current agreement between the Greenland Government and AK or another authorized organization. This position requires a criminal and child certificate. Employment can only commence once satisfactory certificates are received by the municipality. The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with consent, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the applicant from the police. No housing is provided with this position.
