Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq aims to develop curious, resilient, and happy children according to Inatsisartut Act No. 62 on pedagogically developmental daycare for preschool children. Our principles for developing children involve discussing our pedagogical goals and how to achieve them. Our institution is characterized by: Working based on our objectives, which include: • Developing children based on their skills • Using appreciative pedagogy to develop children at their level and based on their skills • Practicing children's speech, acquisition, and ability to interact with others using the 7 basic principles • Using the Kammagiitta suitcase (anti-bullying materials) in various activities to learn about respect, closeness, setting boundaries, and standing up • Employing pedagogical sports so children can learn to control their motor skills and make decisions. About the nursery: Nursery Ungaavaraq accommodates 48 children divided into 4 groups, offering a pleasant atmosphere and a good view. The staff consists of 15 members, including a leader, deputy manager, 3 educators, 4 social assistants, 4 helpers, 1 floater, and 1 kitchen assistant. The nursery opened on December 15, 2010. Opening hours are 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, located in central Nuuk in Radiofjeldet. Criminal and Child Record: The position requires obtaining a criminal and child record. Employment can only commence once satisfactory records are received by the municipality. The child record is obtained by the municipality with the applicant's consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the applicant from the police. Salary and Employment Conditions: Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the current agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
