Majoriaq in Qaqortoq is seeking a skilled and dedicated career guidance counselor to start on February 1, 2026, or by agreement.

The main responsibilities of the career guidance counselor will include:

• Providing contact and guidance to young people in work training
• Planning and following up on strategies for individual youth
• Conducting interviews and assessments regarding education and skill development

Additionally, the role involves participating in tasks such as:

• Providing educational guidance and service
• Assisting students
• Administrative work related to students and apprentices
• Guidance on educational applications and advising on applications
• Processing educational applications
• Acting as a contact, guide, and administrator for internships
• Collaborating with vocational schools and student/apprentice organizations
• Administrative management of student housing

• Open and service-minded, as you will have extensive contact with citizens, students, and external service providers
• Excellent in communication and experienced in interviews and guidance
• Educated as a consultant and preferably with advanced training in guidance
• Proficient in written and spoken Greenlandic and Danish
• Stable, dedicated, and conscientious with regard to workplaces, colleagues, students, and citizens

Salary will be in accordance with the agreement between the Government and SIK for overassistants.
