BI / Data Specialist

At Nukissiorfiit, we work every day to ensure a stable supply of electricity, water, and heating for all of Greenland. We are strengthening our work with data and have recently established a new Data Management department that will help enhance the organization's decision-making basis through better use of data.

As a BI / Data Specialist, you will become a central part of this development. You will work closely with both operations, finance, and management to translate data into reports, dashboards, tools, and analyses that create real value in the organization.

You will have the opportunity to help shape workflows, solutions, and the data landscape in a new department – while working closely with the daily operations of a mission-critical company.

Your role

As a BI / Data Specialist, your main task is to make data accessible, understandable, and usable for the organization.

You will work both strategically and operationally – from dialogue with the business about needs and opportunities to the development of concrete reports, dashboards, and data solutions.

You will be part of a team that works broadly with data – from data integration and modeling to visualization and decision support.

Your primary work tasks

• Develop and maintain BI reports and dashboards
• Translate business needs into data models, analyses, and visualizations.
• Working with data from different systems and integrations
• Contribute to the development of data infrastructure and data strategy
• Gather and work with data through APIs and integrations
• Collaboration with the organization on data needs and decision support
• Contribute to the development of data-driven tools or apps for operations.
• Help ensure data quality, structure, and good standards.

• IBM Cognos Analytics
• IBM Planning Analytics
• Grafana
• ArcGIS
• Data from ERP, SRO/SCADA, and metering systems
• API integrations
• Data Warehouse and SQL databases

Your profile

We imagine that you:

• Has experience with BI, data analysis, or data visualization
• Has an understanding of data processing and data modeling
• Can translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.
• Thrives in dialogue with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Has an interest in systems, integrations, and data platforms.
• Works in a structured, analytical, and curious way with data.

You will be part of a new Data Management department, where the ambition is to consolidate and strengthen the work with data across the organization.

Our task is to create the foundation for better decisions through strong data infrastructure, high data quality, and usable BI solutions.

This must happen through close collaboration with the rest of the organization – from finance and projects to production and operations – where data must be converted into concrete value in everyday life.

As a BI / Data Specialist, you will have the opportunity to both develop solutions and be closely involved in the processes and decisions where data makes a real difference.

The position is located at Nukissiorfiit’s headquarters in Nuuk.

Salary and employment conditions:

Employment is in accordance with the agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant professional organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
