Teacher for the Middle School

Commencement 1/8 2026.

We are looking for a colleague who has a background in the Greenlandic community and who has a good knowledge of the Greenlandic school system. We want to promote kalaallisut in several subjects, therefore we are seeking a colleague who has knowledge and understanding of the language and who has the courage and desire to teach at our middle level. We are looking for a colleague who is ready for the job as a free school teacher with many varied tasks often across the entire school. We are looking for a colleague who presents students with academic challenges and who is able to contribute to the school's educational mission.

We are a smaller school where there is a need for specialists who can also contribute to the broader picture of academic tasks. This means that you should be ready to take on tasks that occasionally challenge your own teaching expertise.

Criminal and Child Certificate

The position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once we have received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once we have received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the free school with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the applicant from the Police.

Employment and remuneration will be in accordance with the applicable agreement between IMAK and Nuuk International School. Start date: as soon as possible.
