If you are interested, we are looking for you, as we have a vacant position as an educational/social supervisor. The position requires a lot of travel activity, as it involves supervising all residential institutions in Greenland.
The position requires that you are good at/are willing to learn the following:

Analyze (documents sent to the Supervisory Authority prior to the inspection)

Interview leaders and employees at residential institutions

To make contact with children and interview them

Good at observing without interacting with people.

Good at express yourself both in Danish and Greenlandic.
The supervision unit is an independent entity within the Department of Social Affairs, Families, Labor Market, and Interior Affairs that conducts a dialogue-based supervision to ensure that municipalities comply with the rules of social legislation.
The Supervisory Unit also conducts operational, financial, and pedagogical oversight of all social residential institutions in Greenland, where the general guidelines and specific action plans as well as treatment plans for the individual residents are examined to see if the residential institutions provide the services they are obligated to under applicable legislation. It is precisely in this area that the Supervisory Unit is seeking an independent, mature, and experienced supervisor with a pedagogical or social professional background.
The inspection unit consists of a department head/inspection manager and 4 inspectors.
About the position (your primary tasks)
As a supervisor, you will oversee residential institutions in Greenland. The position therefore requires a fair amount of travel activity. As a supervisor, you will need to work closely with a colleague who will supervise alongside you and will also need to travel with you.
After each inspection, a report is prepared.
The working hours in the Supervision Unit are 40 hours a week, but overtime can be expected in connection with supervision in other cities.

Is educated as a pedagogue or trained social worker with relevant further education at the diploma level, cand.soc. or similar, preferably at an academic level.

Has broad and relevant experience working in the educational/social field and preferably with experience in the residential institution sector.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as the relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
