The therapy team is seeking an occupational therapist interested in assistive devices for disabilities and social psychiatry in Nuuk. You will work with assessments, case management, and lending of assistive devices, as well as training and guidance of citizens. The position requires independence, flexibility, and good collaboration skills. Employment includes a 3-month probation period.
The therapy team is looking for an occupational therapist with an interest in assistive devices for the disability and social psychiatry area in Nuuk, Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq.
We are looking for an occupational therapist starting August 1st, who is particularly interested in everything from large to small assistive devices and who would like to see tasks through to completion, from start to finish.
That is, you meet citizens, make assessments, handle cases, order assistive devices, distribute them, and provide guidance on how to use them. You will be employed in the area of disability and social psychiatry, where there will also be some assistive device tasks, but you will also have shared assistive device tasks for the entire therapy team. This will include everything from walkers, shower benches, cutlery, wheelchairs, weighted blankets, mini crossers, electric wheelchairs, toilet risers, etc. You will, of course, also be part of the therapy team's common core tasks.
The therapy team is divided into four main areas and one specialized area: the children's area, the adult area, the rehabilitation area, and the disability & social psychiatry area, as well as a specialist therapist responsible for welfare technology tasks. You will be employed in the disability and social psychiatry area.
The therapy team helps citizens of all ages with physical, cognitive, and/or psychiatric challenges achieve the greatest possible independence in their daily lives. We do this, among other things, through training in everyday skills via meaningful activities. Maintenance training either individually or in groups. Assessment, allocation, and distribution of large and small aids that are intended to increase citizens' independence, accessibility, and participation in their own lives.

The tasks of the occupational therapist:
Strengthen citizens' ability to be self-sufficient through training and aids.
·Take on a wide range of versatile and exciting assistive tasks across a broad target group of citizens.
·Together with the physiotherapist in the disability and social psychology field, responsible for individual training, group training, and activity groups.
Assessment, case processing, and lending of aids to the target group and to citizens from the shared inbox.
Transfer teaching
·Work based on quality standards for the disability and social psychiatry sector

Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
