As a study advisor/psychotherapist in the Department of Study Services, your role is to gather and develop Ilisimatusarfik's support for students.
We are looking for a study advisor/psychotherapist for Ilisimatusarfik as soon as possible. The working hours are 40 hours a week.
About study services:
We are in Student Services, 12 employees to serve about 600 active students spread across 12 programs.
The university's administration, of which Student Services is a part, plays a very important role in the organization and helps support the students, teachers, colleagues, citizens, and partners. It is important that you see your role in relation to a group of different people, but keep in mind that first and foremost we are here for our students - and we are here when they need help.
Your areas of responsibility
You will have overall responsibility for coordinating and developing initiatives for student well-being and educational choices:

Help students complete their education by holding group discussions, presentations, and similar activities.

Must be able to supervise department heads in connection with conversations with students.

Assist the other academic advisor in helping students at the start of their education and throughout their studies, as well as in choosing their next steps in life.

Assist the other study advisor in ensuring coherence in students' educational paths.

Develop procedures and guidelines regarding offers to students

Conduct internal courses/information campaigns

Develop a mental first aid kit

Journaling

Less administrative work

Supervision of external collaborator

Is trained as a counselor/social worker/psychotherapist or similar

Has experience working with students

Greenlandic at native level as well as Danish and English

Is passionate about helping young people and adults.

Has the desire and ability for interdisciplinary collaboration

Is socially inclined and has good social skills.

Understands the importance of being able to collaborate with all departments at Ilisimatusarfik.

Has knowledge of Greenlandic society and Greenlandic culture.

Ilisimatusarfik, Greenland's University, was established in 1987 and currently offers 13 different programs, including options for part-time studies at both diploma and master's levels. Ilisimatusarfik is an Arctic university that creates knowledge and innovation in a rapidly developing region. The board is the university's highest management body. The Central Administration serves the entire university. It is led by the university director. The Central Administration has departments in Ilimmarfik. The departments work closely with the academic units, but also collaborate with each other. The tasks of the Central Administration include: student administration, personnel administration, servicing the board and the Academic Council, as well as other service functions for the university's staff and students. The Central Administration is also responsible for the building operations of Ilimmarfik.
Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
