The Municipality of Kujalleq is seeking teachers for Tasersuup Atuarfia Qaqortoq for employment starting May 1, 2026, or by further agreement.

 

Qaqortoq is the largest town in South Greenland with over 3,000 inhabitants. Tasersuup Atuarfia has 420 students. There are 33 classes including special classes, such as Tungujortuaraq. There are a total of 53 skilled and experienced teachers, including some newer leaders. There are four divided levels, with educational assistants who have a good collaboration with village teachers and home educators.

Furthermore, the school manages a daycare/school care arrangement as well as a student home. Municipality Kujalleq holds continuous effective courses for its employees to foster good collaboration and innovation and is open to higher education.

Salary and employment conditions

Employment is in accordance with the agreement between the Government of Greenland and the Teachers' Union in Greenland, IMAK, the Public School Teachers in Greenland of May 25, 2021, and the main agreement between the Government of Greenland and IMAK of October 28, 1998.

 

Induction trip

In connection with the employment, the employee and family have their travel expenses covered, and after three years, their travel is paid for if the teacher leaves the job, and according to the rules, allowances are provided during the relocation.

 

Personnel housing

Housing can be provided for which rent and a deposit are paid according to applicable rules.

 

Child certificate:

The positions are subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has obtained a child certificate. The child certificate is one of the decisive requirements in connection with the municipality's decision regarding who should be hired for the position.
