The media house Sermitsiaq is looking for an ambitious journalism intern for winter 2027. The intern will work with news, culture, and politics, gaining experience in journalism. A learning program will be offered with close guidance from experienced journalists in Nuuk.
Are you passionate about journalism and do you want to be part of Greenland's strongest private media house?
The media house Sermitsiaq is looking for an ambitious and curious journalism intern who wants to help shape the news flow in a society where the stories are close, significant, and often global.
As an intern with us, you will have a unique experience where you will explore all genres of journalism and gain solid experience in various writing methods and news dissemination:
🔹 News
Here you will learn to work with breaking, agenda-setting stories, quick research, and digital communication. You will be part of a fast-paced environment and learn to navigate in a newsroom where every day is different.
🔹 Culture and people
Here you will work with the stories that come close to people, culture, and life across the country. You will have time for in-depth reporting and portraits – and you will learn to find the stories that connect Greenland.
🔹 Politics and business
Here you will follow political decisions, societal developments, and the big trends in Greenland. You will learn to cover everything from business to elections, reforms, and international relations. You will gain experience with background articles, analyses, and high-level interviews.
Who are you?
We imagine that you:
Are currently studying journalism and seeking an internship (or equivalent documented experience)
Are curious, critical, and eager to work in a small, ambitious media house
Can work independently – and as part of a strong team
Have an interest in Greenlandic society, culture, and politics
Are willing to live and work in Nuuk for the entire internship period
