The Department of Disability and Social Psychiatry is seeking an engaged leader for the support corps and housing units in Tasiilaq. If you have experience in leadership and are passionate about making a difference for our residents, you are exactly who we need as our new leader.

The position of leader is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. You will primarily have day shifts, but as a leader, you are responsible for all the units. You will solve the leadership task in close collaboration with the deputy manager and with support from consultants and the department head.

We have two smaller housing units that together accommodate 6 residents. The residents primarily have mental and physical disabilities and substance abuse issues. Additionally, there is a support corps where support persons provide assistance to citizens in their own homes as needed.

In this position, you, along with your employees and deputy manager, will ensure operations, as well as develop the units and their residents. You should be a present leader who dares to take the lead when needed. You will also be part of a strong leadership community across the housing facilities, where you, together with your leadership colleagues and the department head, will set the direction for the development of the area.

In this position, you will become part of a larger community: We are a department with eight housing units, eight housing collectives, two activity and social offerings, and three support corps distributed in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut.

Criminal record check:

This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the properties of the Government of Greenland and the municipality in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, temporary staff housing will be offered to employees entitled to vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing becomes available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses will be provided according to the applicable rules.
