The Digitalization Agency is seeking a System Manager to further develop Greenland's GIS-based fundamental data systems. The position involves responsibility for stable operations, collaboration with stakeholders, and coordination of tasks. You will have an impact on how fundamental data is registered and used in the public sector.
Can you collaborate with anyone and do you have the courage to manage all of Greenland's data?
Then we are a team of fantastic people who would like to have you as a colleague.
So you should read on.
We have a rarely offered position where you can take responsibility for further developing one of the most important technical foundations for the public sector – our GIS-based basic data systems. Basic data is used across municipalities, authorities, and central decision-making processes. Therefore, we are looking for an ambitious System Manager who will ensure stable operations, create an overview, and drive operational development forward with professional weight and strategic insight.
In this role, you will have real influence on how basic data is registered, shared, and used – today and in the future.
Who are we?
The Agency for Digitalization sets the direction for a secure digital future for Greenlandic society and leads the development of secure, standardized digital solutions. At the Agency for Digitalization, we work both on the digitization of Greenland and the IT operations of the Government of Greenland.
This means that we carry out projects on everything from self-service solutions for citizens to changes in our IT infrastructure, so the tasks will be varied.
The task of being responsible for all of Greenland's Basic Data will mean, among other things, that you will help ensure secure sharing of, among other things, the Greenlandic Land Register, address database, and that collaboration with stakeholders across the country functions and develops.
We are about 30 colleagues in the agency, who not only collaborate but also help each other across professional fields.
About the position
As System Manager, you will be the driving force behind direction, coordination, and progress in our GIS-based basic data systems. You will work closely with users, partners, municipalities, and suppliers, translating needs into clear priorities and concrete deliveries.
You should thrive in an environment where dialogue, collaboration, and coordination go hand in hand. You meet stakeholders at eye level and ensure that decisions can be implemented in practice.
As Product Owner, communication and understanding of the connections around basic data systems are an important focal point for your work. An assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of the requests made by stakeholders is a significant element of your work, and subsequently ensuring development is carried out within agreed timelines and budgets. Thus, planning and communication are among your core areas that will ensure successful implementation and development of the GIS-based basic data systems.
We are looking for you who…
- Are positively inclined
- Are good at collaborating – both with people you know and those you have not yet met
- Have courage – even when the to-do list grows
- May have experience with project management – preferably within IT, but we are open
- May know something about GIS
- Are eager to learn new things and meet new people
If you do not know Greenland
- People are generally welcoming and helpful
- We help each other so that everyone succeeds – also at work
We imagine that you…
- Think that structure and documentation are more friend than foe
- Can work in teams with different professional backgrounds without losing overview
- Can communicate complex material in a way that does not require a dictionary
- Are loyal to colleagues and our strategic goals
- Are comfortable speaking and writing Greenlandic, Danish, and English
We offer
- System responsibility for GIS-based basic data systems.
- A position where you will coordinate tasks between users, suppliers, and stakeholders across authorities and private companies.
- That you will be allowed to plan and follow up on deliveries in collaboration with the supplier and possibly other partners.
