You will be an important part of the daily operations at the police station, where you will work with citizen service and various administrative case processing tasks.

Start date: as soon as possible or by agreement.

About Greenland Police
Greenland Police employs approximately 430 staff, of which about 190 are police trained.

The police station in Nuuk is Greenland's largest and houses several specialized units, including the Investigation Department, Emergency Department, Control Center, Intelligence and Analysis, as well as the Planning Section and Prevention Unit.

Nuuk Police District is based at the main station in Nuuk and is led by a police commissioner. The district also includes the police station in Paamiut and the associated settlements, where the police collaborate with local municipal leaders to solve police tasks and create safety in the communities.

As an administrative employee, you will be part of a workplace with high professionalism, a strong collegial community, and an informal tone. We help each other across professions and emphasize well-being, good collaboration, and professional development.

About the position
As an administrative employee in Nuuk Police District, you will have a versatile everyday life, where you will both have contact with citizens and solve administrative tasks that support the police's daily work.
Your primary tasks will include:

  • Citizen service, including daily expeditions and guidance for citizens

  • Answering and forwarding inquiries via email and phone

  • Case processing, including eviction cases

  • Proclamations

  • Oral and written interpretation between Greenlandic and Danish

  • Occasional grants

  • Other administrative ad hoc tasks

You will have a central role in the daily operations at the police station, and it is therefore important that you thrive with a varied workday, where tasks can shift from citizen service and interpretation to administrative matters and practical operational tasks.

About you
We are looking for a colleague who:

  • Has a relevant office education, e.g., TNI, AU, or similar, or solid administrative experience from a similar position

  • Works independently and structured while also thriving in close collaboration with colleagues

  • Is service-minded, welcoming, and reliable, and can maintain an overview – even when it is busy

  • Has good IT skills and can quickly familiarize themselves with new systems and workflows

  • Masters both Greenlandic and Danish at a high level, both written and spoken

It is an advantage if you have experience with administrative work, case processing, citizen service, or interpretation, but the most important thing is that you are eager to learn, take responsibility for your tasks, and contribute positively to the workplace community.

We offer
At Greenland Police, you will receive:

  • An exciting and versatile everyday life close to the police's core tasks

  • Thorough training in your tasks and the police's IT systems

  • A strong collegial community with opportunities for sparring and professional development

You will be part of a larger police station, where you will have a central role in the daily operations and close collaboration with police officers and other colleagues.

Salary and employment conditions
Compensation will be based on educational level and qualifications, and in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant organization.

Working hours are 40 hours weekly, and are primarily planned during daytime on weekdays, but there may be occasional opportunities for other working hours on weekdays and weekends.

The employment period is unlimited.

A non-furnished staff housing may be assigned to the position, for which you will pay a deposit, rent, and ongoing expenses. The size of the housing depends on the number of people in your household. Since there may be a waiting period for the assignment of staff housing, a furnished vacant housing will be made available to you in the meantime. There may be accommodation in a hotel for a short period if there is also a waiting period for a vacant housing. No vacant housing will be provided if you are already residing in Nuuk.

Free moving of personal belongings and relocation travel for you and your household will be provided in accordance with the applicable rules at any time.

It is a prerequisite that you can be security cleared at the necessary level for the position. You may be required to perform functions where a higher security clearance is necessary. Employment in the police and in the prosecution is conditional upon your ability to maintain the required security clearance at all times.

Greenland Police has implemented smoke and nicotine-free working hours.
