The institution is located in Nuuk and has space for 6 young people. 
  
About the position 
The target group of the residential institution is socially disadvantaged boys aged 12-17 with various social problems. 
In working with the disadvantaged boys, no punitive or consequence-based pedagogical methods are used. Instead, the disadvantaged boys should be involved in sports activities and practical tasks, in collaboration with the staff.   
Adventure therapy is an essential part of the pedagogical methods. 
The work takes place in smoke-free environments. 
  
Competencies 

You have a social pedagogical education or are otherwise qualified with relevant experience in working with socially disadvantaged children and young people. 

You are able to provide the young people with good experiences and successes through appreciative pedagogy. 

You possess insight and understanding for working with young people who have severe social and emotional challenges. 

You are preferably bilingual, Greenlandic and Danish. 

You are creative, resourceful, persistent in your efforts, and have good collaboration skills. 

You engage in sports in your free time, are in good shape, and are ready for extreme sports. 

You are able to push yourself while maintaining a positive focus on the resident. 

You take shared responsibility so that the project functions as well as possible on all fronts. 

You are ready to work with great freedom with a corresponding great responsibility. 

Furthermore, we expect, among other things, that you: 

Have knowledge of Greenlandic conditions. 

Have a positive outlook on life and can create good relationships based on an appreciative and resource-focused approach. 

That you are able to de-escalate conflicts. 

Have a good ability to be present, visible, and persistent. 

That you are in good physical shape and able to push yourself during physically demanding activities. 

Have a desire to collaborate with others, including parents, residential institutions, and municipalities. 

Can work independently and are able to come up with new challenges on your own. 

That you have a passion for sports and nature and that you have the desire to share your experiences with the children and your colleagues. 

You participate in all daily routines both around the children and in the practical work.
