The U.S. Consulate Nuuk is seeking a Project Management Assistant to support foreign aid programs in Greenland. The position involves project management, budget planning, and communication support. Qualifications include two years of university education and experience with program administration.

The U.S. Consulate Nuuk, Greenland, is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Project Management Assistant (Foreign Assistance) position. You'll support our vital foreign assistance programs in Greenland, working directly under the supervision of the Principal Officer at the U.S. Consulate Nuuk. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to U.S. diplomatic efforts in the Arctic region.

What You'll Do

  • Project and/or Activity Management Support: Support the management, monitoring, and evaluation of projects and programs. Support budget planning and track funding, expenditures, and payment documents of Implementing Partners (organizations that carry out U.S.-funded projects).

  • Operational Support: Provide communications support, prepare communications materials, maintain an organized filing system, and coordinate travel and logistics for U.S. government officials and site visits.

  • Program Management Support: Arrange meetings with Greenlandic organizations, provide Danish-English interpretation as needed, and help gather and analyze data.

Qualification Requirements

  • Education: Two years of university or college studies

  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience providing program and administrative support, with international assistance with the U.S. government or equivalent work with a private or host-government entity

  • Language: Fluent English and Danish, and good working knowledge of Greenlandic (speaking, reading, and writing)

  • Job Knowledge: Program and project management, contracting, procurement and funding practices, and host government institutions

  • Skills: Ability to review invoices, track budgets, and work well in a bilingual environment. Effective user of the Microsoft Office suite, Gmail, and Google suite, or equivalent software.

Benefits Package

·      Vacation bonus (1.5% of basic salary) and Merit Based Compensation bonus (about 3% of basic salary)

·      30 paid vacation days, plus 18–19 Danish, Greenlandic, and American holidays

·      Employer pension contribution of 10%

·      Paid child sick days and family care leave
