The Disability Ombudsman Institution Tilioq works daily to ensure that persons with disabilities in Kalaallit Nunaat can live a life on equal footing with others in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. We are looking for an engaged, structured, and professionally strong special consultant for a temporary position from November 1, 2026, to January 31, 2028.

About the position and tasks
As a special consultant at Tilioq, you will have a key role with significant professional weight and a high level of independence. You will be a central driving force in the planning, coordination, and implementation of Tilioq's projects, seminars, conferences, and strategic initiatives.

Your primary tasks will include
•    Project management and project control, with overall responsibility for planning, coordination, fundraising, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of Tilioq's projects in close collaboration with the rest of the secretariat and external partners.
•    Events and conferences, with responsibility for coordinating and holding Tilioq's recurring seminars and conferences for professionals, disability associations, business people, civil servants, and politicians.
•    Strategic communication and analysis, including the preparation of complex writings, analyses, consultation responses, policy briefs, reports, grant applications, as well as press releases and notes.
•    Networking and collaboration, including building and maintaining relationships with external actors inside and outside of Kalaallit Nunaat.
•    Communication and travel activities that contribute to communication work about the rights of persons with disabilities and Tilioq's visibility. Some travel activity is expected in connection with the management and holding of projects and events.
•    Managing daily financial responsibilities, keeping accounts, and handling communication with accountants and auditors.

We envision that you
•    Have a relevant academic degree at the master's level (e.g., in social sciences, social work, law, or politics) as well as a solid relevant background of experience.
•    Have in-depth knowledge of or experience with the disability sector, human rights, the UN system, indigenous peoples' rights, or project work in NGOs/public institutions.
•    Have experience in project work and communication about the disability sector in Kalaallit Nunaat.
•    Possess strong project management and coordination skills and can work independently and purposefully with many balls in the air.
•    Are a strong communicator who can convey complex academic and legal topics understandably in Danish and preferably kalaallisut as well as English.
•    Are inclusive, flexible, and thrive in a work environment characterized by collaboration across differences.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between Naalakkersuisut (Greenland Self-Government) and the relevant negotiating organization, including the right to relocation and moving expenses.
The position is primarily a full-time position with a working time of 40 hours weekly, with the possibility of a flexible job scheme or similar.
 

Housing
Unfurnished staff housing in Sisimiut can be allocated for the position solely according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be allocated to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or Naalakkersuisut or to individuals. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the allocated housing. The staff housing is tied to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be waiting time for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets, e.g., dogs or cats, in staff or temporary housing.
Tilioq's secretariat is headquartered in Sisimiut. However, we are open to applicants living in other cities and having the position as an online workplace, also known as a home office.
