The Street Team Tasiilaq is looking for a social or health professional in Social Services

What is the Street Team?:

The Street Team is a holistic organized prevention agency that performs social skills training and bridging work for the most vulnerable and homeless in a developed system with prevention methods that ensure continuous follow-up on each individual citizen. The effort is supported by interdisciplinary and other partners.

The Street Team performs, among other things: Street outreach work in Tasiilaq in the places where the target group may reside. Social skills training is also conducted in Housing Training, for a total of 8-9 people and Housing Training in their own home for the homeless in their new home.

In the effort, the Street Team has also become aware of a need, which is to meet the citizen in an informal environment with appropriate frameworks and has therefore worked towards creating a space where the citizen can come and receive an assessment.

Action plans are made for the citizen, who gets the opportunity to move forward with support, guidance, backing, and follow-up from the Street Team, which is part of a holistic social professional effort for the homeless and socially vulnerable in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq.

We are looking for you who:

Have a genuine curiosity and interest in our field and not least our target group. You who have an interest in learning from others, reflecting, having patience, the ability to collaborate, and understanding the importance of clear communication and understanding of an organizational workplace.

·Are socially or health professionally educated

·Are good at creating close relationships.

·Can navigate in working with vulnerable and homeless citizens and are resilient

·Preferably have a first aid certificate but it is not a requirement

·Preferably have a physical first aid certificate but it is not a requirement

·Have knowledge of the city of Tasiilaq

·Are accommodating, flexible, and have an overview

·Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

·Have a systematic approach to your tasks

·Understand the importance of documenting

·Understand planning and have an interest in always being one step ahead with the planning in citizen follow-up

·Problem-solving oriented

·Are open to innovation and further development

·Are used to using Outlook as a tool

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered temporary housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when there is staff housing available. A relocation travel and moving expenses are provided according to applicable rules.
