Social Pedagogical Seminar is looking for a teacher in the department in Nuuk

We are looking for a teacher at PI/SPS Nuuk, who in collaboration with the teaching team can provide instruction across several of the seminar's vocational and higher education programs.

PI/SPS covers all of Greenland with the following significant functional areas:

The Social Pedagogical Seminar (PI/SPS) has departments in Ilulissat and Nuuk, with its headquarters in Ilulissat. The seminar has around 50 employees and approximately 300 students spread across eight programs.

The programs include: early childhood assistant education, social worker education, social assistant education, professional bachelor's degree in social pedagogy, pedagogical assistant education, counseling assistant education, advisor in social work, and the pedagogical diploma program.

• to conduct education and courses within social and pedagogical fields and social counseling

• to inspire development in the social pedagogical sector – professionally and educationally

Teacher tasks:

We are looking for a teacher with strong skills in coordination, flexibility, and collaboration, as well as an interest in continuous development.

The teacher plans and conducts instruction, participates in scheduling, acts as a practical teacher, and maintains ongoing contact with practical institutions. Additionally, it is part of the tasks to read and assess students' written assignments in connection with both theory and practical courses as well as exams.

You will be part of a teaching team at PI/SPS, where you will have the opportunity to influence and further develop the teaching in line with the seminar's vision of contributing to and making a difference in the social pedagogical practice field throughout Greenland. Travel activity is to be expected in connection with teaching and courses.

It will be an advantage if you have experience from pedagogical work and/or teaching in the adult education sector.

We expect that you:

• Are educated as a pedagogue at the bachelor's level or equivalent.

• Have a relevant master's or graduate degree in a related pedagogical field.

• Are prepared to plan and conduct courses and continuing education activities within the seminar's subject areas.

• Have experience from and knowledge of Greenland

• Have a positive approach as well as trust and responsibility

• Have good collaboration skills and a solution-oriented approach

• Are bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish

Salary and employment conditions
The position is desired to be filled from December 1, 2026, or by agreement.

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment may occur as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor in accordance with the applicable collective agreement

Housing                                                                     
An unfurnished staff housing can be assigned for the position according to the applicable rules at any time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.

Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the housing, ownership conditions, etc. There may be waiting time for the assignment of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
