The nursing home "Ajarsivasik" Qaqortoq is looking for 1 nurse:
The position as a nurse is available for occupancy from November 1, 2026 or as soon as possible.
The nursing home has space for 48 residents, divided into 3 departments.
Residents who are partially self-sufficient and residents who require full care.
There are 3 departments, 2 general care departments and 1 dementia department.
We are a nursing home that is open to innovation, development, with future visions where optimizing the quality of life and well-being of the elderly is the focus.
There is 1 nurse employed, so there will be 2 nurses for 48 residents, in addition, there are health assistants and health helpers and a number of unskilled staff.
Work and responsibilities
- Basic care and direct assistance as needed. Especially in complex care processes.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with relevant partners where the resident is at the center.
- Function as a co-mentor for students and pupils.
- Work to ensure that residents feel safe and have a meaningful life
- Quality assurance of care
- Be involved in the development of professionalism
- Medication dosing
- For the assessment of residents in case of illness
- Responsible for conducting the monthly rounds with the doctor
- Proactive in developing and maintaining one's own professionalism
- The position includes on-call duties, including on-call every 3 – 4 weekends
- Primarily day shifts, evening and night shifts may occur as needed
Qualifications and requirements
- Educated as a nurse
- Initiative and ability to involve colleagues.
- Bilingual, Greenlandic and Danish (not a requirement)
- Welcoming to all residents as well as colleagues
- Clean criminal record
- Is stable, robust, and accommodating.
- Has the will to serve elderly citizens
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreements between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing can be provided, for which payment is made according to applicable rules. We would like to point out that there is a long waiting period for staff housing, employment can take effect when a staff housing can be offered.
