Nanortallip Atuarfia is looking for teachers for our youngest special classes and middle school

Nanortallip Atuarfia is looking for 2 teachers to start on November 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

We are looking for a teacher for the middle school who can teach Mathematics, Greenlandic, and Danish as well as serve as the class teacher for 4th grade. We wish for you to cover some of these subjects, but the right teacher is our top priority.

Additionally, we are looking for a teacher for our youngest special class, where we also wish to cover the role of Advisory Teacher for Special Education. You will follow one of our experienced teachers, who is also an advisory teacher.

Nanortallip Atuarfia has 176 students and currently has 21 teachers.

Nanortallip Atuarfia has good tools, good collaboration, and is surrounded by fascinating nature with great opportunities for excursions. Nanortallip Atuarfia has an annual program about Pilineq (provisions) with its own learning objectives, in which the whole school participates.

You will be involved in teaching using iPads. We use Clevertouch smart screens for teaching. Each grade has its own focus areas, which are worked on intensively throughout the school year. We regularly meet in subject teams, grade teams, and class teams to plan, coordinate, and support each other.

At Nanortallip Atuarfia, there is a great appreciation for teamwork. We are few teachers with a lot of responsibility, and we value collaboration highly to support students academically and socially. Our philosophy is that we learn from our mistakes, that we learn together, and that we always strive to develop ourselves. About the positions:

We are looking for teachers for the following positions:

We are looking for a teacher to join a co-teaching arrangement for one of our special classes, which is associated with the school's middle school.

We are looking for a teacher for the school's middle school to cover Danish, English, and Physical Education with the possibility of splitting classes.

We are looking for a teacher for the school's oldest grade to cover Danish and English as well as the course center, which is our class splitting offer in the oldest grade.

Child certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has obtained a child certificate.

The child certificate will be part of the municipality's assessment of who should be hired for the position.

Staff housing

Housing can be provided, for which rent and deposit are paid according to applicable regulations.

Employment on favorable terms

Employment is based on the collective agreement of May 25, 2021, between Naalakkersuisut and IMAK. For applicants who are already civil servants in Greenland, this form of employment can be continued.

To attract qualified applicants, employment is offered under the Agreement on Employment on Special Fixed-Term Conditions. This means in practice that the employee and their family are provided with a holiday travel allowance after every 12 months of employment according to applicable regulations. Additionally, a severance amount of 18,000 DKK per year of employment at 1991 level is deposited into a closed account. The severance amount is paid out after the employment ends.

Commencement travel

Free commencement travel is provided for the newly hired employee and their family, and after at least 3 years of employment, severance travel and relocation of belongings are provided according to applicable regulations.
