We are looking for a residential advisor for our students and apprentices. As a residential advisor, you must be present in the residences, and through activities, you will help create good inclusive frameworks, well-being, and security. Some of the students or apprentices are under 18 years old.

You must be prepared to work flexibly, where you are with students and apprentices after school hours about 2-3 evenings a week, as well as on duty every 2nd weekend at the Teenager residences. As a residential advisor, you can live in our staff housing located in the residence building. This is not a requirement.

There will also be tasks to be solved during school hours, such as contact and cooperation with the school and parents, as well as participating in pedagogical meetings, visiting residences, planning cleaning and activity plans.

It is important for us - and not least for the students and apprentices, that you as a residential advisor are professionally and personally well-founded, who has both the desire and ability to work with young people in education.

Technical School (KTI) in Sisimiut includes upper secondary education, vocational education in construction and civil engineering, contractor and raw materials, marine engineering education, and a significant course business.

KTI's residential area includes 389 residential units, which are located in immediate proximity to the school. In your daily work, you will have close cooperation with the head residential inspector and service staff (kitchen, janitor, and cleaning), as well as the school's educational managers, teachers, and advisors.

As a residential advisor, you will among other things:

• Handle the daily contact with the residents.
• Promote social life and community in the residence through activities.
• Initiate cleaning arrangements for the residents, as well as supervise the residences to ensure that the cleaning plans are followed and that the rules of order are adhered to.
• Be able to advise on hygiene and basic healthy cooking.
• Ensure that a resident council is established and that residence meetings are held regarding conditions, activities, and any disagreements in the residences.
• Be part of the duty roster together with the other advising staff.
• Be flexible and able to work closely with the other staff in the residential area and the school.
• Contribute to ensuring maintenance and procurement of materials for the residence.
• Help to inform and keep parents updated about the residence conditions and the individual resident's well-being.

• that you have a good sense of humor and are welcoming.
• that you are bilingual in Danish and Greenlandic.

The position is desired to be filled as soon as possible or by further agreement, and begins with a probation period of 3 months.

Child certificate and Public criminal record

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when KTI has obtained a child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when KTI has received the child certificate from the National Police.

Employment is subject to satisfactory child and public criminal records.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary - and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing                                                                     
Unfurnished staff housing can be allocated for the position according to the applicable rules at any time. Housing cannot be allocated to individuals who already have staff housing or another housing owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the allocated housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.

Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the housing, ownership conditions, etc. There may be waiting time for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing or hotel apartments, for which taxation occurs. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
