At GUX Nuuk, there is a vacant maternity cover position starting on October 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is full-time and temporary until the beginning of July 2027.
GUX Nuuk is Greenland's largest high school and has approximately 500 students in 7-8 tracks across three grades, taught by about 50 teachers and approximately 15 PAM staff. Our students have very different academic and social conditions but share a common dream of graduating.
The high school is associated with a dormitory, and the recruitment area stretches from Tasiilaq in the east to Paamiut in the southwest, although the vast majority of students come from Nuuk. We work at the high school with second language pedagogy and culture-based teaching, placing students at the center of the high school's activities.
We are looking for an AC officer who thrives in a diverse everyday life with many varied tasks. You will play a central role in the high school's administration, where you will work with HR administration, planning, coordination, and development tasks related to the high school and education in Greenland. You will be an important sparring partner for management and administration and contribute to ensuring that the high school's administrative processes function effectively and professionally.
Your primary tasks
As an AC officer at GUX Nuuk, you will work with:
- HR administrative tasks, including recruitment, hiring processes, onboarding, and updating personnel policies and administrative procedures
- Supporting the high school's management in coordinating and developing collaboration with external institutions, such as the Department of Education and the Education Agency, including responding to inquiries, reporting, and implementing new guidelines and initiatives
- Planning, coordinating, and executing the high school's exams in close collaboration with management, high school teachers, and administration
- Administrative operational and development tasks across the high school
- Planning and coordinating recurring administrative processes and activities
- Supporting the high school's work with retention and quality assurance
- Preparing analyses, notes, presentations, and decision-making materials for management
- Ad hoc tasks, where you contribute to ensuring that everyday life functions across the high school's administration.
We expect that you
- Have a relevant master's degree
- Have strong administrative skills and work in a structured and systematic manner
- Thrive in a varied workday where you have many balls in the air and can maintain an overview – even when it is busy
- Can work independently, take initiative, prioritize, and follow tasks through to completion
- Are collaborative and thrive with a broad contact surface across the organization
- Have good written and oral communication skills
- Are flexible, solution-oriented, and have a positive and service-minded approach to both colleagues and students
- Are eager to actively contribute to the development of the high school's administration and workflows.
We offer a meaningful job and an exciting and versatile position where you will have extensive contact with the entire organization as well as the opportunity to influence both administrative processes and development tasks. You will be part of a committed workplace with high professionalism, a good collaborative climate, and a daily life where no two days are the same.
