The Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Church is therefore looking for a new colleague who will be responsible for both the development and processing of the education in the fisheries technical field, as well as in other technical education

Job content
There is a strong focus on the development of fisheries vocational education in Greenland, so that it can meet the needs of society in the coming years. The position will therefore include many different and varied tasks – on the one hand, you will be one of those responsible for several of the schools in the vocational education area EUD, on the other hand, you will participate in development and data collection tasks as our work is based on these cornerstones.

The main responsibilities will be:

• Handle tasks related to "your" branch schools and the EUD area in general, including approval of study regulations, supervisory tasks, and processing within the fisheries technical education
• Political servicing, such as drafting notes, reports, statements, commissions, speeches, and press releases as well as answering §37 questions from politicians regarding the vocational education area (Questions that the Inatsisartut can ask the Naalakkersuisut)
• Participation in meetings, including in commissions, committees, working groups, and councils
• Participation in cross-cutting development projects with other departments
• Ensure work in relation to the Naalakkersuisut/Naalakkersuisut / Inatsisartut
• Other Ad hoc tasks in the education area

Your personal qualifications
We are looking for an AC officer or special consultant who is professionally skilled and committed, independently thinking, and has the ability and desire to engage in independent, collaborative teams, in a department that values development highly. We are looking for you, who takes pride in delivering solid professional craftsmanship, and who approaches your tasks in a structured manner. Tasks that range widely from administration and operations to development and political servicing.
We would like to see that

• You have a relevant higher education at the master's level.
• You have experience from a similar position preferably within the fisheries area or from a position within the education sector.
• You have an overview and can work under time pressure.
• You have good knowledge of Greenlandic society
• You are strong in Greenlandic, Danish, and English
• You have an overview and can maintain it in a complex process.
• You have an interest in working with vocational education, especially the technical education within fisheries

About the Department and the Education Department
The Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Church's tasks are wide-ranging – from servicing the Naalakkersuisut to overall management of the sector. Overall, the sector works to raise the educational level of society and strengthen culture.
The department has about 35 employees, of which 10 are employed in the education department

Salary and employment conditions
This is a position with employment either as an AC Officer or special consultant, as a candidate with the right competencies and sufficient experience can be employed as a Special Consultant. 

Salary - and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

No housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned housing is maintained. The housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
