Responsible and committed healthcare assistant sought for Housing Unit Seernaq
Disability and Social Psychiatry is seeking a skilled healthcare assistant for the Housing Unit Seernaq. If you have your heart in the right place and want to make a difference for our residents, you are exactly who we are looking for as our new colleague.
The position is a full-time position of 40 hours per week starting on July 1, 2024. Your working hours will primarily be during the daytime on weekdays. You will work closely with your colleagues to support our residents in their development.
The Housing Unit Seernaq is one of our larger housing units in Nuuk. The housing unit accommodates 18 residents with mental and physical disabilities. The housing unit consists of 4 floors, where residents and staff are associated with the individual floors. The residents have their own room and share a kitchen and living room with the other residents on the same floor. Your core task will be to help the residents develop their mental, social, and practical skills so that they can be as self-sufficient as possible. Together with your colleagues, you will support the residents in living a good and meaningful life as they wish. In addition to our 18 residents, the housing unit consists of approximately 23 employees who are healthcare trained, educators, and unskilled workers.
Your tasks:
·Ensure that rules and guidelines are followed
·Observation and follow-up on medical treatment for residents with mental illness
·To be a mentor for healthcare interns
·Teaching/brush up during theme days as needed and for relevant issues
The tasks related to medication management are solved in close collaboration with the unit's manager and deputy manager as well as the department's nursing department head, healthcare consultant, Ikaasaafik, and Queen Ingrid's Hospital. In addition, there is collaboration with disability caseworkers, the department's therapy team, and the prison service.
We expect that you:
·Are a trained healthcare assistant with a completed medication course
·Are caring and welcoming, and see that it is the way to a good working environment
·Have a desire to develop yourself and our department, making a significant difference for the residents
·Work independently and in collaboration with other professional groups
·Can teach your colleagues in healthcare documentation in collaboration with the deputy manager and the manager
·Can provide healthcare support for other employees
·Can be the primary contact person for contact with the healthcare system
·Have an overview of agreements

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
