Princess Margrethe School in Upernavik is looking for an engaged school social worker who is passionate about early intervention, well-being, and prevention. With us, you will have the opportunity to work closely with students, families, teachers, and authorities to create the best conditions for children's development.

The school social worker will act as an intermediary for the Family Administration and must, in collaboration with the school, ensure that relevant support for students with social or behavioral difficulties is provided.

Princess Margrethe School is a public school with approximately 180 students distributed across grades 1-10 and 2 special classes.

Start date: October 1, 2026, or by agreement.

You will among other things:

• conduct supportive and advisory conversations with students
• support students who need a good start to the school day
• advise and guide parents and school staff
• participate in interdisciplinary meetings with the Family Administration
• contribute to early and preventive initiatives
• be a link between school, home, and authorities
• assist in developing the school's work with well-being and inclusion

• are independent and good at creating an overview
• have experience from the school, family, or social sector

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland or another negotiating organization.

Vacation is taken during the students' summer vacation.

Unfortunately, no housing is provided

Child and criminal record check:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a child certificate and criminal record check, which is why the hiring authority will obtain this, with approval from the applicant
