Then this position as a pharmacist in Greenland is for you!

The National Pharmacy is seeking pharmacists starting October 1, 2026, or by agreement, for an exciting workplace where the hospital pharmacy and primary pharmacy are under one roof.

Greenland's pharmacists are employed at the National Pharmacy in Nuuk, where the core tasks include servicing the departments of Queen Ingrid's Hospital and dispensing medications according to prescriptions for the citizens of Nuuk.

Job Description

As a pharmacist in Greenland, you will have a versatile role with both clinical and logistical tasks. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Advising and guiding healthcare personnel and patients about medications and treatments
  • Dispensing prescriptions and providing medications at the pharmacy
  • Managing medication orders, inventory control, and distribution to smaller settlements
  • Ensuring that medical treatment is conducted in accordance with applicable guidelines and legislation
  • Collaborating with doctors and nurses on patient safety and pharmacotherapy

Additionally, you will continuously participate in projects such as:

  • Systematic review of medication assortments
  • Guidance on the disposal of medical waste
  • Process optimization in the distribution of vaccines, cytostatics, etc.

Qualifications

We are looking for a pharmacist who:

  • Has experience from a pharmacy or hospital pharmacy (an advantage, but not a requirement)
  • Possesses good communication skills and can adapt advice to local conditions
  • Is flexible and resilient in an environment where resources and surroundings may vary
  • Has an open and positive attitude towards working in a new and different environment
  • Can work structured and efficiently – even in busy periods

Housing

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic Health Service at any given time.

Salary and Employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Candidates who possess additional qualifications beyond those specified above, such as relevant diploma or master's levels, may be entitled to additional remuneration in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the company's guidelines.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. Residence and work permits can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
