Health Assistant for the Housing Unit Qinngorput
Disability and Social Psychiatry is looking for an initiative-taking and action-oriented health assistant for the Housing Unit Qinngorput. If you have your heart in the right place and want to make a difference for our residents, you are exactly who we are missing as our new colleague.
The position is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, primarily day and evening shifts as well as weekend work. You will work closely with your colleagues to support our residents in their development.
The Housing Unit Qinngorput is one of our larger housing units in Nuuk. The housing unit accommodates 21 residents with mental disabilities and substance abuse. The residents have their own apartments and use the housing unit's two common apartments to cook and eat together as well as for social interaction. Your core task will be to help the residents develop their mental, social, and practical skills so that they can be as self-sufficient as possible. Together with your colleagues, you will support the residents in living a good and meaningful life as they wish. In addition to our 21 residents, the housing unit consists of approximately 20 employees who are health professionals, educators, and unskilled workers.
Your tasks:
·To work on developing the residents towards a higher degree of self-sufficiency and increased quality of life, including through the work with the residents' action plans
·To be responsible for medication for the housing unit, including handling, dispensing, and following up on medication
·To motivate and support the residents in daily activities such as a walk, shopping, cooking, and doctor visits
·To strengthen the community in the housing unit through collaboration with colleagues, leadership, and residents
The tasks are solved in close collaboration with the other employees of the housing unit as well as internal and external partners, including caseworkers, Ikaarsaarfik, Queen Ingrid's Hospital, and the prison service.

Criminal record:
This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
Housing:
No staff housing can be provided for the position.
