Avannaata Municipality is seeking an experienced coordinator for the elderly sector to start on September 1, 2026, or by agreement.
The position is centrally located in the Family Administration in Ilulissat.
The position reports directly to the head of the Benefits Department under the Administration for Families. The employee will serve as a coordinator for the social efforts in the elderly sector in the four towns of Avannaata Municipality and will coordinate and further develop the work in Avannaata Municipality in connection with the upcoming law on support for the elderly, which is expected to come into force in 2027.
As a coordinator, you should expect to travel to other residences in Avannaata Municipality. Conducting smaller courses as needed will also be part of the job responsibilities.
In your daily work, you will collaborate with the permanent staff in the Department for Family and participate in the ongoing development of the area, including advising the political committees.
The work and areas of responsibility include, among other things:
Coordination of the operation of the nursing homes
In collaboration with the employees in the administration to develop and implement personnel and work structures and procedures in the nursing homes.
Ensuring that the rules for the implementation of legislation in the elderly care sector are correctly followed.
Planning and implementation of initiatives and projects in collaboration with various professional fields.
·Advising management on efforts in the elderly sector
·Dialogue with management about the development of the area
Cross-cutting collaboration on initiatives, budgeting, and budget follow-up
We expect that you:
Has experience working in the elderly care sector.
·Has experience from the public sector
·Has management experience, but this is not a requirement
·Has an understanding of organizational development

Salary and employment conditions:
Employment is in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the negotiating organization.
It is a condition for employment that satisfactory information is available in the criminal record. Once the applicant has signed consent for this, the employer will obtain the record from the National Police.
Housing can be provided for the position. Relocation travel and moving expenses will be covered according to the applicable regulations at any given time.
