Family Coordinator sought for the Family Center in Maniitsoq

The Family Center in Maniitsoq is looking for a family coordinator who can start on September 1, 2026, or by agreement.

About the job/family center:

The Family Center in Qeqqata Municipality primarily works with trauma following incidents such as sexual abuse, violence, neglect, and suicide. The task of the Family Center is to ensure that families are supported and helped well after such incidents. Additionally, the Family Center also has preventive measures, where the family is supported from pregnancy onwards. Currently, there are 3 environmental workers, 1 social pedagogue, 2 home helpers, and the manager. To strengthen the Family Center's goal of being an interdisciplinary, treatment-oriented center, we are looking for a coordinator for family guidance for the team.

There are extra ongoing cases in the Family Center, where the children's house is in progress, the coordinator's primary tasks will be children and young people who have been subjected to sexual abuse or have been subjected to physical and psychological violence.

As a coordinator in the Family Center, your tasks will be:

We can offer the following:

·Reception, assessment, and coordination of referrals from the Children and Family Department

·Participation in open counseling.

·Coordination of referrals to the Children's House and summons

·Coordination of police interrogations

·Coordination, management, and preparation of minutes for Case Council

·Participation in police video interrogations

·Preparation of minutes from video interrogation

·Preparation of recommendations for the caseworkers in the children's house in collaboration with therapists.

·Participation in ad hoc tasks

We emphasize:

·Educated as a social worker or further education in family guidance, or trained as a psychotherapist.

• Is welcoming and able to create a trusting contact with those who come to the Family Center.
• Values an interdisciplinary collaborative environment where different perspectives come into play.
• Is able to work independently and in teams.
• Is bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

Salary and employment conditions

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the Municipality has obtained a child certificate.

The child certificate will be included in the municipality's assessment of who is hired for the position.

Salary and employment conditions are generally in accordance with the agreement between Naalakkersuisut (Greenland's Self-Government) and the negotiating organization.

Housing can be provided for the position, for which payment is made according to applicable rules.
