Kitchen Leader for the Elderly Home in Uummannaq

Avannaata Municipality is seeking a kitchen leader for the elderly home in Uummannaq, starting on 01.09.2026 or as soon as possible by further agreement.

The kitchen leader reports to the manager of the elderly home in Uummannaq.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

·Operation of the kitchen in collaboration with the manager of the elderly home.

·Maintenance of equipment and inventory.

·Ordering of food items and other necessities.

·Monitoring and control of the budget.

·A stable and responsible work effort.

·Preparation of meal plans, staff schedules, and vacation planning.

·Guidance of students in the kitchen.

·Calling in substitutes in case of absence.

·Distribution of tasks in the kitchen and coordination with the cleaning staff.

Special Qualifications:

·Trained chef or has a corresponding relevant education.

·Experience with meal calculation and planning as well as daily operations.

·Aware of their responsibilities and able to work independently.

·Energetic and motivated for the job.

·Has an overview of the overall tasks and works flexibly.

·Is cooperative, approachable, and stable.

·Is physically and mentally healthy.

·Has visions for healthy and nutritious food and is able to think innovatively.

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions will be determined in accordance with the applicable agreement between Naalakkersuisut and the negotiating organization.

No housing is provided for the position.

Employment will be subject to the presentation of a satisfactory criminal record. The criminal record will be obtained by the employer from the National Police once the applicant has given their consent by signature.
