At Oqaasileriffik, we work every day to strengthen and develop the Greenlandic language – and to make it easier to use kalaallisut in practice, both in society, in education, and in the digital everyday life. We are Greenland's language secretariat, and we are passionate about ensuring that the language lives, functions, and has space – from new words and spelling to language policy and advice.

A large part of our work involves creating and maintaining the tools and resources that many use in their daily lives: dictionaries and word registers, terminology lists, knowledge about grammar and spelling – and not least language technology such as translation, corpora, and digital aids. This means that we have both a strong professional foundation in language and culture and a modern perspective on technology and application.

As a workplace, we are characterized by close collaboration across disciplines. Here, there is room for nerdiness, immersion, and discussions, but also for translating knowledge into something others can use. We have a daily life where quality, responsibility, and respect for the importance of the Greenlandic language go hand in hand with the desire to develop new solutions.
