Museum Curator

Are you passionate about art and dream of working at Greenland's leading art museum? Your tasks will include project management of exhibitions and events, teaching children and youth, as well as maintaining the museum's art collection. We are looking for a flexible person with experience in art and culture, who can communicate in multiple languages.

Are you passionate about art and dreaming of working at Greenland's leading art museum?

Are you good at bringing your ideas to life?

Are you up for a small, fast-paced workplace where we together create development in the art scene in Nuuk?

Are you good at telling stories?

Can you teach children and young people, hammer nails into the wall when required, and do you want to help create innovative exhibitions?

Your main tasks will be:

To maintain good service for guests at the museum.

Develop knowledge of art in Nuuk and Greenland - and Greenlandic art outside of Greenland.

Project management of children's events, exhibitions, national day, cultural night, and similar activities at the museum.

Management of the museum's offerings to schools and educational institutions.

Ongoing registration and maintenance of the museum's art collection

To be involved in creating relevant exhibitions from idea to setup, fundraising, and reporting.

Everything in close collaboration with the two other museum curators and the museum director.

It is not a requirement, but we prefer:

That you can take charge and are good at problem-solving.

That you can be a good host

That you have a relevant education preferably from Art History or from Ilisimatusarfik with either Cultural and Social History or from Language, Literature and Media, or in tourism or similar.

That you have experience with museums and/or the art and cultural life.

That you have experience teaching children and young people.

That you can communicate in Danish, Greenlandic, and English.

That you can navigate in the Greenlandic art and cultural environment.

That you value service highly.

That you can be flexible and ready for a day with changing work pressure.

We can offer:

A temporary position of 25 hours per week – with good opportunities for flexibility, and there will also be the possibility of more hours during periods if interested.

A workplace with great opportunities for independent development.

An informal work environment with plenty of coziness (and cake)

Great opportunity to realize one's own dreams in the field.

Many diverse tasks where no two days are the same.

A job with a finger on the pulse of Greenland's art and cultural life
