Kitchen Manager

The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a skilled and dedicated trained nutrition assistant for Kitchen / Utoqqaat Illuat / Welfare and Labor Market, starting May 1, 2026, or as soon as possible. The position is full-time with working hours from 7 AM to 3 PM and work every other weekend as well as on some public holidays.

The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a skilled and dedicated trained nutrition assistant for the Kitchen / Utoqqaat Illuat / Welfare and Labor Market, with a start date of May 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. With a 3-month probation period.

Utoqqaat Illuat has a total of 46 residents, all of whom are on full board. Additionally, food is provided to pensioners in the city as referred to by the visitation. Thus, the kitchen produces about 125 portions of the day's main meal.

Utoqqaat Illuat has a total of about 70 employees, of which 9 are in the kitchen. The work takes place in a modern large kitchen, which has various aids in the kitchen that offer possibilities for new ideas in cooking.

We prioritize highly that our cooking experience should be both nutritious and culinary.

The position is a full-time position, and the working hours are usually from 7 AM to 3 PM, with work every other weekend and on some of the year's holidays.

The content of the position:

We are looking for a trained nutrition assistant, preferably experienced with a dietitian, to join and take on a number of tasks including:

Kitchen manager

Dietitian diet/Special diet

Common diet

Food delivery to citizens

Baking and spreading bread

The collaboration to improve the major holidays.

The tasks are carried out in close collaboration with the kitchen manager, other employees, and our relevant partners.

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

There will be staff housing available for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the current rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary rental unit, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing is available. Relocation travel and moving of personal belongings are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
