The Orpigaq Foundation – Ilulissat
Would you like to help start a brand new department? The Orpigaq Foundation in Ilulissat is opening a new youth home, and therefore we are looking for employees.
What is the task? The purpose of the department: The new department is to serve as a home for young people aged 17 to 23, where they can learn to become adults and independent. Here, they will receive support in their daily lives – for example, with cooking, shopping, cleaning, and financial management. They will also be supported in attending school, going to work, being stable and on time, and keeping commitments. Our main goal is to help them acquire the necessary skills to create a good life in the future.
Your tasks will be:
-
To help shape everyday life and support young people in having a stable and structured daily routine.
-
To support them by cooking together, shopping with them, guiding them in cleaning, and teaching them financial management.
-
To be a present adult that the young can trust and reflect themselves in.
-
To be a role model that shows how to take responsibility, keep agreements, and show respect for one's fellow human beings.
-
To support them in going to school, being in education, or working, even during periods when they lack motivation.
-
To be there for the young people and support them through conversations when they experience problems or need someone to talk to.
-
First and foremost, you are educated in the pedagogical/social field or have experience with human work.
-
It is not an absolute requirement that you are educated, but it is a requirement that you have experience working with young people. If that is you, you are very welcome to apply for the position.
-
You must be patient, able to endure waiting, able to create calm, and at the same time maintain a persistent overview.
-
It will be a great advantage if you have experience working with vulnerable or challenged youth.
We are continuously inviting relevant candidates for interviews and will continue the recruitment process until the positions are filled. Therefore, we recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible.
