The Welfare and Labor Administration is seeking a substitute for the new Competence Development Center in Nuuk. The center is a recently established initiative as of August 2025.
The Competence Development Center targets citizens aged 16–28 with special needs, including individuals with mental illnesses, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, or other cognitive and social challenges.
The position is temporary until the end of August, with working hours primarily during the day. The position is full-time (40 hours weekly) with working hours primarily during the day. You will be part of a small team of about 2 employees and a manager.
Purpose and vision
The center's purpose is to create a local offer that works to help citizens with disabilities master a more independent life and improve their opportunities for employment or further education. The vision is to provide a year-long program that gives participants some of the tools they need to be able to participate more actively in society.
Work tasks
As a substitute in the Competence Development Center, you will work to support citizens in their development in close collaboration with colleagues and other partners. Your primary tasks will be to:
·Plan and implement learning processes and activities that strengthen citizens' social and professional skills.
·Work on building citizens' self-esteem and motivation for more active participation in society, including employment and education.
·Adapt the processes to the individual citizen's needs and challenges
Support the development of, among other things, practical skills, daily tasks, and coping with personal challenges in relation to their disabilities.
Collaboration with colleagues and contributing to the development of the center's methods and content.
Qualifications and personal profile
We are looking for a substitute who:
·Is trained as a pedagogue, teacher, occupational therapist, or has other relevant experience with the target group.
·Has practical experience with the target group, can adapt and is creative in your approach to the individual.
Is patient, empathetic, and has a strong ability to build relationships.
Is collaborative, approachable, and remains calm in challenging situations.
Can work both independently and in teams, and takes responsibility for own tasks.
·Is structured and goal-oriented in your work
Being bilingual (Greenlandic and Danish) is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
