The Municipality of Sermersooq's Social Services in Nuuk is looking for a Janitor with a function as a driver for the Street Team's employees.

Who are we:

The street team is a department that serves the homeless and citizens who are in development – where quality and development will be a priority in the work. Today, there are 30 dedicated employees in the department, working on retrieving food, transporting bedding, ensuring safety within the building, and serving the homeless and citizens. Collaboration within Social Services is extensive, working both within and outside the municipality.

The tasks:

As an employee with us, you will have the opportunity to develop yourself – and contribute to the development of the department. The tasks include, among other things:

·Trained as a carpenter or as a technician as an alternative

·Driver's license for at least 1 year.

Someone who wants to work with socially disadvantaged citizens

·Preferably with experience in building maintenance and practical skills

·Someone who can be a work environment and safety representative

·That you have an understanding of organizational work

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

·That you have experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, and GetOrganized as a tool

The primary task of the Driver / Assistant Caretaker of the Homeless Shelter is to pick up non-food and food items, order these, and manage the logistics and coordination of the depot stock and inventory list of food and non-food items.

Maintenance in collaboration with the Leader of the Shelter. Co-responsible for the car according to the applicable guidelines in collaboration with the Leader of the Shelter.

Be jointly responsible for and maintain the three Housing Rehabilitation buildings for the homeless, in collaboration with the department manager and the coordinator in the Street Team.

The normal working hours will be from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and as needed.

Criminal record.

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland or another relevant negotiating organization in Greenland.

The employment will be with the first 3 months as a probation period.

No housing is provided for the position.
